Callejón Neoyorquino II- New Jork alley II

In the previous post, I showed you how I made the volumetric elements of this scene. In this post, you will see how I have arranged them, the different textures of the facades, the final details and the global view of this vertical scene.

With thick foamboard, I made the sidewalk.
With a pencil I have marked the edges and cracks and woth a cutter I carved a ramp for the garage.
I applied gesso and then I painted with different grays using a sponge.
The road is another foamboard of 1 cm thick where I have carved and painted a black a hole to cover with a cardboard sewage grid. I got the texture of the road using a gray paste that wears mica.

I have placed all the elements on a foamboard to decide the height of the work.
To obtain the different volumes of the facades I have worked overlapping foamboards of 1 cm thick.

On the left side I have aplied plastic putty with a spatula. Then I have painted an sign of a seafood restaurant and have aged with waxes and eye shadows.

To make the brick textures on the right side, I applied plastic putty with a brick template on a thin cardboard board.
With 1mm cardboard I simulated the key bricks on the windows. And with foamboard simulating bricks I made the windowsills.

I have painted the wall in different shades of red, then alkil and talcum powder, and then I have painted yellowthe facade of the garage using a sponge and leaving areas less covered.
I have written the letters and applied stains and dirt with wax and bitumen from Judea.
Before fixing the garage door, I have carved a hole in the foamboard and painted it in black to give it some depth.

With tin, wrapping a stick of silicon and painted as if it were rusty iron, I made the drainpipe, and I put it between two facades.

I have painted all the graffitis, before framming the scene and fixing the fire scape.
If you love comics, the graffiti on the left will sound familiar to you, because it is one of the most lovely characters in the comic "The Sandman", her name is Death.

I have framed the scene and added the final details: wires, trash bags, newspaper boxes, a cat, pots, a garland of lights with the switch and battery hidden in one of the air conditioners, a green chair, an ashtray on the air conditioning, the dry plants in the pots of the second floor...

  7. Hola Mara,
¡Qué maravilloso! Toda la escena es simplemente fantástica. Te has superado a ti mismo.
