En septiembre de 2018 empecé un experimento creativo que ha durado todos este tiempo y que me ha permitido seguir en contacto con las miniaturas, pero de un modo diferente. He dejado a un lado (por ahora) las habitaciones en miniatura y las casas de muñecas y me he dedicado a contar historias algo más complejas en mucho menos espacio: en latas de conserva.
In September 2018 I started a creative experiment that has lasted all this time and that has allowed me to keep in touch with miniatures but differently. I have put aside (for now) the miniature rooms and the dollhouses and I have dedicated myself to telling somewhat more complex stories in much less space: in tin cans.
Todo comenzó porque realmente no tengo suficiente espacio en casa para seguir haciendo escenas grandes indefinidamente y por la necesidad que tenía de seguir aprendiendo a crear superficies y texturas en miniatura que fueran realistas. Además el nuevo formato suponía un desafío muy interesante desde el punto de vista compositivo, y desde el artístico el soporte no podía ser más sugerente.
It all started because I don't have enough space at home to keep making big scenes indefinitely and also of my need to keep learning to create realistic miniature surfaces and textures. Furthermore, the new format was a very interesting challenge from a compositional point of view, and from an artistic perspective, the support could not be more suggestive.
Espero que os gusten mis escenas enlatadas, esos fragmentos de espacios llenos de vida y poesía. Donde los objetos hablan del tiempo y las experiencias que han vivido, como auténticos protagonistas. O al menos esa era mi intención en un principio, ahora, debido a la pandemia, siento que todos nosotros estamos enlatados como los objetos de mis escenas, todo en conserva hasta que llegue el momento de reanudar nuestros tímidos sueños.
I hope you like my canned scenes, those fragments of spaces full of life and poetry. Where the objects speak of time and the experiences they have lived, as authentic protagonists, or at least that was my intention at first. Now, due to the pandemic, I feel that all of us are canned as the objects of my scenes, everything well canned until it's time to resume our shy dreams.
