Este mes, he vuelto a salir publicada en la revista Miniaturas :-)

This month my miniatures were published again in the specialised magazine Miniaturas :-)
Thank you for your messages of congratulation. I'm very happy. 

Los dos artículos publicados han sido referidos a dos escenas y sus respectivos procesos de elaboración.
La primera es una escena muy otoñal, se llama “Huevos frescos” y representa el porche de una casa de campo donde se puede ir a comprar huevos.

The published articles were about two scenes and each elaboration process.
The first one is a very autumnal scene called “Fresh eggs” and it represents the porch of a country seat where eggs are sold. 

La segunda es un herbario. Tiene un aire medieval y a la vez moderno, lo cual no deja de ser curioso ;-)

The second one is an Herbarium. Curiusly, it has a medieval and modern atmosphere.

Y por si fuera poco, también me publicaron un tutorial para hacer lámparas marroquíes.

And if that were not enough , my tutorial about making moroccan lamps was also published. 

Estas dos escenas estarán disponibles en exclusiva en la Feria de Miniaturas On-Line en Español, que tendrá lugar los días 26, 27 y 28 de octubre. Podréis ver más fotos y detalles allí.

The sweet tooth

El mes pasado me publicaron una escena en la revista Miniaturas.

Como no todo el mundo puede conseguirla, he pensado que quizás os guste leer el paso a paso de esa escena en el blog.
El título de esta escena es un juego de palabras en inglés, se podría traducir al español como el diente dulce o también como el goloso.La expresión "tener un diente dulce" (to have a sweet tooth) significa ser una persona que adora los dulces, un goloso, vamos.

Last month, one of my miniatures was published in the specialised magazine Miniaturas. Considering that not everybody can get it, I think it gould be a good idea to share with you the step-by-step of this scene in my blog.
The titleof this scene is a play on words in English, will be translated into Spanish as "El diente dulce" or as "El goloso". The expression " to have a sweet tooth" means to be a person who loves sweets (a "goloso")

Si visitáis esta otra entrada sobre moldes y resinas veréis cómo se pueden hacer cuencos de resina de cristal a partir de hueveras de codorniz.

Bien, pues con uno de esos cuencos, unas cadenas, una tira de estaño y algunos adornos he realizado una lámpara.

If you visit this other post about resin and molds you'll see how you can make resin glass bowls from quail egg cups. 

With one of those bowls, chains, a strip of tin and some jewelry ornaments I made a lamp. 

El plafón del techo lo hice con masilla de secado al aire blanca grabada con un sello. 

The rosette is made with white air drying modeling clay embossed with a round stamp. 

Es posible que os acordéis de cómo pinté y decapé un mostrador que compré sin pintar, si no es así podéis refrescar la memoria pinchando aquí.  Le puse unos cubiertos de tiradores y desde entonces tenía claro que iría muy bien en una pastelería.

Perhaps you may remember how I transformed this desk, if not, you can refresh your memory by clicking here. I put some cutlerys as shooters. When it was finished, i was sure that it would go nicely in a pastry. 

Compré una caja de madera para guardar pastas, en el lateral tenía un cristal que podía muy bien servir de ventana, las letras las borré fácilmente con decapante sin necesidad de rascar el cristal.
Quité la placa metálica de la tapadera y puse en su lugar un cristal.

I bought a wooden box to store pastries. On the side it had a crystal that could well serve as a window. I removed the letters with stripper, I took off the metal plate of the top and put in place a crystal. 

Forré la pared del fondo de madera y la pinté de blanco.
Para hacer el suelo, las imágenes siguientes os pueden aclarar bien cómo lo hice.

I covered the back wall of wood and painted white.
To make the floor, the following images can clarify well how I did it. 

Para hacer las pizarras, primero corté cuatro trozos de papel iguales dos a dos, les apliqué gesso. Los lijé suavemente y pinté de negro. Cuando hubo secado apliqué alkil y para matar el brillo talco.
Una vez que tuve los tableros de las pizarras, hice los marcos siguiendo la misma idea de los espejos trumeau que vimos en una entrada antigua.

To make the blackboards, first I cut four pieces of paper and applied gesso. Them I lightly sanded and painted it black. When they were dry I applied Alkyl and talc powder.
Once I had the slate boards, I made the frames following the same idea of trumeau mirrors saw in an old post. 

Y esta es la escena al completo.

Como podéis leer en las pizarras, en esta pastelería hay de todo, ¡incluso floretas!, que son unos dulces muy típicos que se reparten entre los invitados de una boda a las puertas de la iglesia o del juzgado. Y bueno...a mi me pierden.

And this is the whole scene.

As you can read on the blackboards, in this bakery there are all kind of sweets, even floretas! which are a very typical sweets usually distributed among the wedding guests at the doors of the church or the courthouse. I love floretas!!
